Everyone throws around the word “vintage” in an attempt to make their celebrations sound and look more unique. In reality, very few make the cut when it comes to vintage.
We love the classic and refined era that the word itself evokes, and we’ve got a few tips to help you bring in vintage elements into your next celebration. Tell us what you think, and don’t be afraid to share your ideas with us too.
Florals
This is probably one of the elements of nature that is tried, tested and true when it comes to celebratory decor. Everyone wants them as part of their decor in some way, shape, or form. But in order to give your event a more vintage, look, its important that you choose colors that are complementary to one another.
Don’t overdo it! This is very important to keep in mind because florals are already quite grandiose by nature, so don’t overkill it with too many colors. The example below is a selection of white, pale pink and off white florals combined for a vintage feel. Don’t you love?
Frameworks
One of the things that evokes the vintage feel is classic frameworks and picture frames. Just think of all the vignettes and portraits you saw from those history books – they are all housed in beautifully structured frameworks. This touch of elegance is what every vintage celebration requires.
In this example, we’ve paired multiple layers of frameworks together. We have the straight structure of rectangles in the back, with the floral inspired border frame in the centre. Gold take us back to the classic elegance of the Parisian era as does the damask background. And to tie it all together, we have the florals.
